History
The GRAPHITE Conference series was initiated as a result of a visit to
Australia, New Zealand and Singapore during March and April 2002 by an ACM SIGGRAPH delegation and the
enthusiastic response they received. The delegation included the
President and Vice President of ACM SIGGRAPH, along with other key
individuals representing ACM and EUROGRAPHICS. A full report on their

The
first GRAPHTIE was held in Melbourne in 2003, the second in
Singapore in 2004, the third in Dunedin in 2005 and the forth in Kuala Lumpur in 2006.

250 delegates from 22 countries met at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore
In addition to papers, the conferences also included posters, a digital art gallery, an electronic theatre, a stereoscopic cinema, and a small but interesting emerging technology and trade exhibition.

Graphite 2005 was held at the University of Otago, New Zealand
