Research Income(Award/Grant)

Development of Visualization Tool for an Old Fortran Based Engineering Software Program

(Mr. Nadzari Shaari)

This research is conducted to investigate problems of old engineering FORTRAN based software to suit current need in graphical presentation.

The Development of a New Technique for Automated Fingerprint Enhancement and Restoration

(Professor Dr. Ghazali Sulong)

Fingerprint patterns are rarely perfect. Various types of noise may corrupt them. Therefore, an effective method of enhancing fingerprint images needs to be implemented to facilitate matching and identification. The main goal of this project is to improve the quality of degraded fingerprint images to facilitate matching.

Brain Mapping Using Topological Graphs Obtained by Surface Segmentation

(Associate Professor Daut Daman)

The objectives of this research are to investigate how human brain can be mapped to isosurface, to construct surface segmentation using topological graph, and to develop and test prototype software.

The Development of a Hierarchical Heterogeneous Bounding Volumes Tool for Detecting Object Interference in Urban Simulation

(Dr. Abdullah Bade)

The aim of this project is to develop a hierarchical heterogeneous bounding volumes tool to support the object interference checking in massive urban application.

The Development of Biodiversity Database System Using Spatio-Temperal Object-Relational Data Techniques

(Associate Professor Daut Daman)

The objectives of the research are to determine and identify the characteristics of Malaysian Biodiversity data, to design Spatio-Temporal Object-Relational data model to represent Malaysian biodiversity, and to develop Malaysia biodiversity database system to manage biodiversity data.

Novel Study of Geo-Vector Space and Dynamic Probabilistic IR Technique to Support Efficient Spatial Temporal Information Retrieval in Biodiversity System

(Associate Professor Daut Daman)

The aim of this research is to investigate and propose a new IR model or algorithm that can be used in biodiversity area.

A New Deformable Technique with Hybrid NURBS Parameterization

(Dr. Abdullah Bade)

The objectives of the research are to propose hybrid deformable parameterization for object deformation and to develop a deformation weight of hybrid deformable parameterization.

The Development of Low Cost 3D Visualization Tools for MRI Data

(Associate Professor Daut Daman)

The objectives of the research including to model and construct a 3D image from 2D MRI data, to develop tools to visualize the 3D constructed MRI data, and to develop a low cost prototype visualization software.

3D Scene Management to Reduce the Computational Cost of an Immersive Driving Simulator System

(Dr. Mohd. Shahrizal Sunar)

This project aims to create 3D scene management to reduce the computational cost of an immersive driving simulator.

A Biologically-Inspired Computational 3D Articulated Figure Animation

(Puan Norhaida Mohd. Suaib)

Since the use of motion capture data is gaining attention in animation, the main objective of this project is to generate realistic movement for 3D articulated figure based on motion captured data using biologically-inspired computing technique.

Development of Multimodal Interaction for Web Based Digital Photo Retrieval: Toward Improving Users’ Search Performance

(Dr. Nor Azman Ismail)

The objectives of the project are to design a model and develop a prototype of speech/graphical user interface (SGUI) for web based digital photo retrieval system and to evaluate the prototype in order in order to measure user’s search performance.

A New Adaptive Blind Image Deconvolation Technique
